Safeguarding

At Wylam Community Church, we take safeguarding seriously. We are committed to providing a safe, caring, and respectful environment for everyone, especially children, young people, and adults who may be at risk.

Safeguarding is a core part of how we live out our faith and responsibilities as a charity. We aim to protect people from harm, respond well to concerns, and ensure that all those serving in the church are safe and properly supported in their roles.

Our Approach

  • We promote the wellbeing and dignity of everyone who engages with the church
  • We have trained safeguarding leads in place
  • We follow safer recruitment practices, including DBS checks where appropriate
  • We take all concerns seriously and respond promptly and appropriately
  • We work with statutory services where required and seek specialist advice when needed
  • We are committed to transparency, accountability, and learning where issues arise

Reporting a Concern

If you have any concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a child or adult, please contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead, Caroline Daly, by email at info@wylamcommunitychurch.org.uk.

If someone is at immediate risk of harm, please call 999.
